What do locum vets earn in the UK?
Day rates commonly start around GBP 400 and rise with sole charge, out of hours and short notice cover. Rate depends on the practice, the location and how much notice there is, and we quote the real rate for each booking rather than a headline figure.
Do I need to be RCVS registered?
Yes. Vet surgeons must hold current MRCVS registration and registered veterinary nurses must be on the RCVS RVN register. We check the register before a booking is confirmed, every time.
How does booking work?
You send us your available dates, your base location and travel radius, and the rate you work for. We come back to you when a practice matches. You are never put forward for anything without your agreement first.
