Locum Vet Surgeon - Small Animal (London)
About the Role
An independent small animal first opinion practice in South East London is looking for a locum vet surgeon to cover annual leave. The role involves routine consultations, surgery and dental work, with sole charge on some days. The practice runs on a well supported team with experienced RVNs in theatre and consult.
This is a candidate led booking. You tell us your available dates, your travel radius and your day rate, and we bring the work to you. We verify RCVS registration before any booking is confirmed.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct first opinion consultations for small animal patients
- Perform routine soft tissue surgery and dentals to a high standard
- Manage sole charge days with confidence and sound clinical judgement
- Maintain accurate clinical notes within the practice management system
- Work closely with the RVN and reception team to keep the day running
Requirements
- Current MRCVS registration, verified before booking
- Confident in sole charge and routine small animal surgery
- Minimum two years UK small animal practice experience preferred
- Own transport or reliable travel within the agreed radius
- Professional indemnity cover in place
