Social Care Worker / Residential Care Worker
About the Role
We are seeking applications from enthusiastic Social Care Workers and Residential Care Workers who are passionate about supporting young people that have experienced trauma and display behaviours that challenge.
These positions are ideal for those who enjoy working in a team and want to make a difference in the lives of young people. All employees are provided with extensive training to assist you in your role, so this is a role you can grow into with proper support behind you.
Both full time and relief positions are available, so there is scope whether you want a permanent contract or more flexible hours.

Key Responsibilities
- Support young people who have experienced trauma and display behaviours that challenge
- Deliver day to day care in a children's residential centre in line with Placement Plans
- Work as part of a team across shifts, including weekends
- Maintain accurate records and reporting in line with centre policy
- Work within the National Standards for Children's Residential Centres and Children First
Requirements
- A Bachelor (Ordinary or Honours) degree, MA or MSc in a relevant field, for example QQI Level 8 Psychology, QQI Level 7 Social Science or Social Studies, Youth and Community, Family Support, Disability Studies or Applied Behavioural Analysis
- Fourth year students on a Social Care or Social Studies course also considered
- Professional Practice Qualification in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy, Counselling, Psychotherapy or Addiction Counselling also considered
- Professional Qualification in Teaching (not TEFL) or Nursing Studies, BA in Applied Policing or Higher Certificate in Custodial Care also considered
- Full, clean driver's licence valid in Ireland
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the National Standards for Children's Residential Centres and of Children First
- Ability to work with young people and with challenging behaviour
- Someone who enjoys working as part of a team
