Psychologist - AuDHD Assessment (Children & Adults)

Remote, Ireland€700-€900 per assessment (DOE)Posted Just posted

    About the Role

Ireland's largest private-pay autism assessment and intervention service. HSE approved, recognised by the Department of Education, and trusted by families, schools, employers and public services across the country. The service is expanding its dedicated AuDHD assessment capacity across the full age range, from children and adolescents through to working age adults.

This is a specialist AuDHD assessment role covering co-occurring Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD across children, adolescents and adults. You can take this as a combined caseload across all ages, or focus on adults only or children only, depending on your experience and preference.

The role is structured as a remote first, sessional engagement. You set your own diary, you carry your own caseload, and the service provides full administrative wrap around. Adult assessments are conducted via secure telehealth throughout. Children's assessments are remote first too, with in person ADOS sessions arranged at a clinic where clinically indicated. Intake, scheduling, payment, pre-screening dispatch and post-assessment documentation are handled by the in-house client experience team, leaving the clinical work clear of admin overhead.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct full AuDHD assessments for your chosen age range (children, adolescents, adults, or a mix), combining structured diagnostic interview, validated psychometric instruments and collateral review, typically across 2-3 sessions per client plus report time
    • Produce neuro-affirming, evidence-based formulations that hold up against masking, subtle and late presentations, and the AFAB and female presentation patterns that services routinely miss in both children and adults
    • Work through complex differential pictures, anxiety and mood, trauma, attachment, learning and executive function difficulties, and adult presentations such as CPTSD or EUPD, rather than collapsing the picture into a single label
    • Produce detailed written reports accessible to families and clients, schools, GPs, third level and workplace disability services and onward psychiatry referral pathways. Reports must hold up at school, Department of Education, third level, employer and reasonable adjustment level
    • Deliver thorough post-assessment feedback sessions, walk clients and families through findings, and provide clear practical next steps
    • Work alongside in-house psychiatrists, psychologists, OTs and SLTs as needed for complex cases. Onward pathways for psychiatric medication review are well-established
    • Deliver adult assessments remotely via secure telehealth. Children's assessments are remote first, with in person ADOS sessions at a clinic where clinically indicated. Schedule is yours to set, a sessional model with no minimum or maximum case volume requirements

    Requirements

    • Current PSI Chartered Psychologist status, verified at offer stage. Counselling, Clinical or Educational psychology background all acceptable, provided you have relevant neurodevelopmental assessment experience for the age range you will cover
    • Solid experience conducting ASD and ADHD assessments in your chosen age range, children, adults or both. Comfortable with the presentation patterns that get missed, late diagnosis, masking, AFAB and female presentations, and co-occurring trauma
    • Trained in ADOS-2 (the relevant modules for the ages you assess, including Module 4 for adults), ADI-R or DISCO. Familiar with the ADHD tools for your age range, for example Conners 3, BRIEF and Young DIVA for children, and DIVA-5, Conners CAARS and BRIEF-A for adults. Equivalent toolkits considered
    • Strong knowledge of DSM-5-TR criteria, differential considerations, and the evidence base for AuDHD as a recognised co-occurring presentation. Familiarity with current neurodiversity-affirming clinical literature
    • Thorough, clear, accessible reports - structured to hold up at HSE, Department of Education, third-level disability service, employer and Revenue level
    • Comfortable managing your own caseload within a remote first, sessional structure, able to set diary and manage time across assessment, scoring, report and feedback phases
    • Personal professional indemnity insurance required

    Benefits

    • Per-assessment fee of €700-€900 per completed assessment, depending on experience and case complexity
    • Fully remote, work from anywhere in Ireland. Adult work is fully remote; for children, occasional in person ADOS days at a clinic are arranged only where clinically needed
    • Set your own diary - no minimum case load, no required hours, full flexibility around existing public-sector or other private commitments
    • Full admin support - intake, pre-screening dispatch, scheduling, payment processing, insurance receipts and post-assessment client correspondence all handled in-house
    • AI-assisted clinical tools - AI supported ADOS and ADI-R with automated scoring, Heidi AI for session notes and consults, and Semble for clinic management, all provided to cut documentation and admin load further
    • In-house MDT support for complex case discussion and onward referral
    • Regular group and individual clinical supervision, provided directly by the Clinical Director
    • Work under Dr. Sam Gower, Principal Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Director, registered in Ireland and the UK with over 17 years across the NHS and Irish services
    • Annual CPD budget of €1,000 toward ongoing neurodevelopmental training and accreditation maintenance
    • PSI registration fees covered
    • Performance bonuses available on top of your assessment fees, recognising quality and output
    • Association with the HSE approved service that won the national tender for autism assessments
