Paediatric / RGN Nurse, Home Support
About the Role
You will provide one to one nursing care to a child in their family home in Lucan, delivering evidence based care in line with the individual care plan and working in close partnership with the family and the clinical team. This is a stable, single client homecare setting on a consistent weekly pattern.
An established provider of homecare and complex care services across Dublin and the surrounding region delivers compassionate, family centred care that helps children thrive at home. This is a nurse led home support team, with clinical supervision, structured training and round the clock escalation support behind every package.
The shift pattern is fixed and predictable, one to two regular shifts per week on Wednesday and Thursday, 15:00 to 22:00 (7 hours). You can apply for Wednesday, Thursday, or both. This suits a nurse looking for one or two predictable weekly shifts that fit around existing commitments. The location in Lucan is accessible by public transport.
The child's care needs include spina bifida care, gastrostomy feeds via feeding pump, bowel washouts, intermittent catheter care, PEG care, enteral feeding and medication, pressure area care, medication management, hoist transfers and activities of daily living, and age appropriate play and family support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one to one nursing care to a child in their family home in Lucan
- Deliver evidence based care in line with the individual care plan
- Manage spina bifida care, gastrostomy and PEG feeding, bowel washouts and catheter care
- Carry out pressure area care, medication management and hoist transfers
- Support age appropriate play and family involvement
- Maintain strong clinical documentation and communication with the clinical team
Requirements
- Current live NMBI registration as an RCN or RGN
- Paediatric or relevant disability nursing experience desirable, homecare experience an advantage but not essential
- Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
- Kindness, compassion, dignity and respect in every aspect of care
- Legal right to work in Ireland, sponsorship is not available
